چکیده
Flood is natural phenomenon that cannot becompletelycontrolled by man. Floodis a global problem. Even urban areas whichhave good development planning and drainage systemsare susceptible to floods. Flooding in area usually associated with poor system maintenance, failure plan system, not planned properly, and climate change factors. Typically, engineering measuresare meanttoreduce severity of flood problems theyare quite costly. Goal this paper assess the various mitigation approaches have beenused mitigate floodsacross Europe, Oceania Asia continents. Selected casestudies involvingthe North Sea flood, as well floods Netherlands, Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore Malaysiawere considered.Approaches were highlighted include construction dam, breakwater, canal, pumping system. It has alsobeenfound solution methods way ofsourcecontrolis so popular be fully practiced. Hence, sustainability isactually problem flooding, especially mitigateflash often occur an areas.

Flood Characteristics and Mitigation Issues
Among various natural disasters floods make the largest impact in terms of number of casualties, people affected and property lost. Flood data during the past 30 years show that flood events that cause significant impacts have increased at a steady rate. Available data suggest that this increase could be attributed to increasing population and exposure, increasing property values located in vul...
متن کاملOptimal Flood Mitigation over Flood Propagation Approximations
Globally, flooding is the most frequent among all natural disasters, commonly resulting in damage to infrastructure, economic catastrophe, and loss of life. Since the flow of water is influenced by the shape and height of topography, an effective mechanism for preventing and directing floods is to use structures that increase height, e.g., levees and sandbags. In this paper, we introduce the Op...
متن کاملRNSSs Positioning in the Asia-Oceania Region
Since the late 1990s, several Asian countries have developed plans to launch their own navigation satellite systems (NSSs). As a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is very expensive and complex – only the US and Russia have fully developed GNSSs so far, with Europe and China promising systems – a Regional Navigation Satellite System (RNSS) is a more feasible option. China launched its fi...

متن کاملCervical cancer burden and prevention strategies: Asia Oceania perspective.
The Asia Oceania region contributes to more than 50% of cervical cancer cases worldwide. Yet cervical cancer is one of few cancers that can be prevented through comprehensive screening for precancerous lesions, with their subsequent treatment. Screening with cervical cytology, a very old technology, has reduced cervical cancer mortality and incidence when applied in comprehensive programs with ...
